Utopia Tableware, supplier of glass and tableware to the hospitality industry, has implemented a warehouse management system from Microlistics at its new distribution centre in Chesterfield.
The 170,000 sq ft warehouse is a purpose-built facility, which completes one phase of its £15m plan to improve capacity, productivity, and efficiency across its operations.
Following implementation of the WMS, the warehouse is currently dispatching up to 14,000 carton picks per day with approximately 30,000 pallet space locations and pick-faces. Utopia anticipates that this will increase as global operations are strengthened.
Microlistics managing director Mark Dawson said: “A top priority for Mark [Rammell, Utopia founder and CEO], and the Utopia executive team was speed, flexibility and best practice – they needed a solution that integrated directly with their existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP and, importantly, could scale in line with the company’s growth.”
