British high-street chain Wilko Retail has chosen Voiteq to upgrade its voice-directed work solution. The new system will be rolled out across both its service centres in Nottinghamshire and Wales, which have a combined space of three million sq ft.
The company was previously using voice on multi-modal handhelds and wanted to move to a more ergonomic device, built specifically for voice. It will use Talkman A710 belt-worn computers and wireless SRX2 headsets from Honeywell Vocollect Solutions in both its service centres in Worksop, Nottinghamshire and Magor, Wales. There will be more than 500 Talkman terminals, and upwards of 1,000 headsets across both sites – the Worksop centre is already completing stage one of its implementation.
“Voiteq represent the true meaning of a value-added reseller. In addition to offering a robust execution and reporting solution that will easily adapt to any future changes we make, they also demonstrated a great deal of industry knowledge, best-practice and recommendations” said Stuart Lundy, project manager at Wilko.
“We’ve worked alongside Voiteq to build the perfect solution for our business; one that will take our use of voice to the next level.”
Voiteq is upgrading the system with its VoiceMan Warehouse Execution system, which controls complex picking processes, and business intelligence suite VoiceMan InfoCentre.
Wilko will now use Voiteq’s dashboard and reporting module, VoiceMan InfoCentre Dashboards, for better real-time visibility and historic reporting of its operations. This will also provide Wilko with predictive analytics.
