Construction has started on a 212,771 sq ft high-tech distribution centre on Markham Vale North for German automotive aftermarket supplier Ferdinand Bilstein UK.
Henry Boot Developments is constructing the unit and once complete, the facility will be a hub for the firm’s UK distribution operations, occupying a 14.5 acre plot. Its current distribution operations in Kent and Pontefract will relocate to the site. The move is expected to generate an initial 150 jobs. with the potential for a further 250 jobs as part of FBUK’s planned expansion.

“Markham Vale offers excellent transport links for our distribution requirements, and close proximity to some of our biggest customers. The new relocation will allow us to expand our company further, offering new opportunities on a local and national scale.”
Markham Vale is a joint venture between Henry Boot Developments and Derbyshire County Council.
