Developer Wrenbridge in a joint venture with RPMI Railpen have acquired a nine-acre site in Dartford, paving the way for a scheme that could create about 400 jobs.
The plot was purchased from Dartford Borough Council and Prologis and is located at The Bridge, a 1.8 million sq ft development occupied by the likes of Mercedes, DHL, Sainsbury’s and Network Rail.
The pair are now preparing plans for a development of five warehouse units spanning more than 180,000 sq ft.
Alastair Dawson, senior asset manager at Railpen, said: “This acquisition reflects the strategic and informed approach which we take to increasing development exposure in our property portfolio.
Jeff Wilson, director at Wrenbridge, added: “This will be a highly sustainable development with renewable energy from photovoltaic arrays, electric vehicle charging points and highly efficient insulation, lighting and lifts.”
