Xpediator is in discussions to acquire Slovenian logistics company Intereuropa as part of a competitive sales process and an offer may follow.
Other bidders are also in discussion with the controlling shareholders of Intereuropa.
Xpediator believes Intereuropa would be a good fit with its Central & Eastern European focused logistics and forwarding operations. It also believes that the European and global freight sector will continue to consolidate, demonstrated by DSV’s offer for Panalpina.
At the current time, any acquisition of Intereuropa would exclude most of its property portfolio as focus is retained on operations. Any consideration would be funded largely through a combination of existing resources and debt funding.
Xpediator has also disclosed that it will continue to strive for organic growth and “synergistic” acquisitions, and that it has a pipeline of other potential acquisition opportunities.
