Christy, a Manchester-based manufacturer and retailer of bed and bath linens, has awarded a multi-year contract to XPO for ‘end-to-end management of its supply chain for all channels in the UK and Ireland’.
XPO says that the companies collaborated on the design of a supply chain solution that integrates all aspects of Christy’s supply chain, including its inbound product transport from multiple manufacturing locations and outbound transport of product orders to retail stores and outlets in the UK and Ireland, as well as the retailer’s e-commerce operations.
Mike Holland, Director of Product and Supply Chain at Christy, said: “Our choice of XPO has given us a cohesive, multichannel solution that delivers immediate benefits and will evolve along with our needs.”
Christy will make use of XPO’s shared-user warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire for the storage of goods before being transported to stores or customers’ homes. The warehouse benefits from warehouse management technology for inventory control and management of last-mile orders delivered directly to customers.
Dan Myers, Managing Director of XPO for the UK and Ireland, said: “Christy is an iconic brand synonymous with quality and over 170 years of history. Working together in partnership, this new solution will broaden and further enhance Christy’s retail options for customers in all channels, from e-commerce to the brick-and-mortar experience.”
