Zebra Technologies has launched a new line of environmental sensors to improve visibility in the food, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries.
The three products launched are the ZS300 sensor, the ZB200 bridge, and the Android Sensor Discovery app. The sensors can be used to gain cloud-based visibility into a range of factors through processes such as temperature monitoring and moisture detection. This enables users to monitor and maintain the conditions that products are kept in, allowing them to identify and rectify any potential issues in real time.
Tony Cecchin, Vice President and General Manager of Supplies and Sensors at Zebra Technologies said: “We’re excited to expand our sensor technology to address the need for cost-effective supply chain visibility and data insights. The ZS300 electronic sensor extends our robust portfolio, including visual and printable indicators, providing customers the ability to drive smarter business decisions, reduce waste and increase efficiency.”
The ZS300 sensors are available in multipacks and, according to Zebra, ‘include minimal biodegradable packaging and a no-cost recycling program to help reduce the impact on the environment’.
The ZB200 bridge collects data from multiple Zebra electronic sensors and automatically delivers it to the cloud for instant visibility.
This offering responds to concerns flagged up by the results of Zebra’s Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Vision Study, which showed that only 44% of pharmaceutical decision-makers surveyed said that they completely trust entities within the pharmaceutical supply chain to keep medications safe and uncompromised throughout the supply chain.
